Finally Tang Chen makes a proper entrance, shows you what a level 99 Haotian clansman can do lol Even though he is dying

By the way still no word when it will return back to the 25minutes format, Shanghai is still in lockdown, but good news, the situation in Shanghai has stablised and "under control" from today's news so hopefully they will be out of lockdown soon

Youtube Addict • 1 year ago

I'm fine with the length actually as long as they don't give us 10mins of QRX attempting to pass her trials.😉

Dase • 1 year ago

Dont jinx it now lol you never know, Sparkly Key Animation might be reading this and go hey that's a good idea, let's do it and save some animation modelling and tide it over until the lockdown is over :P

Youtube Addict • 1 year ago

Please nooooooo!!!!😱😱

OfficialDrixMalone • 1 year ago

Oh snap, so Tang Chen is freaking level 99 (I'm being spoiled that it's his GG Grandfather)?! Their clan is so OP, they're becoming too godly, 2 god heirs is beyond ridiculously unfair aha!! TS's clan members are dope, they're secretly ruling the continent, so why are they tucked away hiding from the world instead of dominating and ruling with an iron fist (hammer)?? If I was TS I'd be bragging about how if punks mess with me, they'll have to answer not only to my father (who we know is super strong even without the external soul bones), but also all of the Haotian clan + a evil god/demon lord heir!! Especially since TS is also a god heir, when he becomes full god of the ocean, then they'll be erased from existence, total genocide smh. That'd put so much fear into others and if they aren't scared then they must be psychotic and/or wishing for death lol.

I forgot why these episodes were so short, thanks for the info. I was kind of mad like wtf, this was over so fast aha. So since we're getting shorter episodes, will they still give us the rest of the episodes in the next episode and so on?? Meaning, the stuff they didn't put in the current episode, will it be in the next or are they cutting out the rest for good that didn't make it on the episode??

Dase • 1 year ago

The last few episodes after they left the Sea God Island didnt follow the novel, but it seems we are on track with the current episode, but I am not sure what will be in the next episodes, whether they will follow the novel again or cut contents that are not deemed essential by the studio (like the bantering among each other during the Sea God Trials or the demonstration of Oscar's seventh ability - Gold Fly (an aphrodisiac in real life)
My opinion? Content wont be removed, if they are they will be minor, if anything I would think they will just split the episode up, I dont see extending Soul Land beyond 250 episodes (Tencent removed all traces of Soul Land being 250 episodes) as a problem, since they stream the donghua and it isnt like they take up a timeslot in broadcasting stations, the only thing that would make the studio a stickler for xx amount of episodes is whether the budget for producing Soul Land is fixed or not, if it is fixed then, content will be removed to fit into xx amount of episodes, if it is flexible then we might have more than xx amount :)

OfficialDrixMalone • 1 year ago

I would love to have more than 250, I guess I'll wait for one of you in the comments highly anticipated news, hopefully it’s good news.

Dase • 1 year ago

lol let you know when I have more more information

2hands • 1 year ago

question for you, unrelated to soul land but, have been trying to find the answer myself for a while now with no luck... do you have any info on what's going on with "I Upset Millions of Cultivators" seems to have vanished after ep 70. is it just delays due to covid or to watch it do you have to pay for a premium membership somewhere? do you have any idea if it's going to continue or should I just give up on it for now like I did with "Tunshi Xingkong"??

Dase • 1 year ago

It's supposed to be 160 episodes, not sure why gogoanime's status is completed, unless season 1 is over and is waiting for season 2, but on Tencent streaming it is on episode 78, 79 is going to be released in about 7 hours time at the time of this post. I subscribe to Tencent video, but depending on the tv show, series or donghua, it becomes free after a certain time for non subscribers.
On youtube you can see it is on episode 78, no translations though, personally I think the translation group is busy or stopped, since on myanime live's website they stopped on episode 70

The studio is based in Hangzhou, the same city Soul Land and Tunshi Xingkong's studio is based, but it seems they are still producing donghua without much delays (Shenyi Jiu Xiaojie, Against the Sky Supreme, Qi Jie Diyi Xian, Wan Yu Feng Shen, Renjian Zui Deyi, Peerless Martial Spirit, etc)

2hands • 1 year ago

Hey, thanks! really appreciate you taking time to respond :) I too have a tencent subscription but haven't heard/noticed anything about it. Just spent the past hour or so looking, even subscribed to tencent animation still nothing, and no translations is no good for my dumb ass... hate to ask, I don't like bothering others for something I should be able to do myself but if you get a chance maybe a link (even a hint of where else to look lol) for eps past 70? no biggie if not, I'll keep checking around.

Dase • 1 year ago

You are on v "dot" qq? it should be there if you search the Chinese characters on it, not sure if it is on WeTV. I didnt even know if it is on Tencent youtube, I know it is on one of the non Tencent youtube channels but untranslated. lol

It's no bother, if I can help I will, if I cant then I will say. I checked Kurina subs nothing there, Animexin only goes to episode 18, only one that is/was doing it is myanime live. Havent checked naruldonghua

2hands • 1 year ago

Back to waiting it is!!

2hands • 1 year ago

yea, I have subs to narul & WeTv nothing there either, well 1 thru 5 eng subbed but nothing since then edit - nothinn on WeTv

The sword, guys...remember that sword 😉

Let's just say it's more powerful than we can fathom--it cut the Divine Realm's Dragon King in two--and will make an important appearance in the last episode. I'll leave it at that LOL.

Great ep. This is one of my fav scenes in the novel because it's an appetizer for the true power of Asura; reveals the identity of the Slaughter King; introduces the most powerful weapon in existence; passes a very important artifact to TS; includes another great fight; and features a TS x Hu Liena reunion 😜.

Unfortunately, because of the changes made to accommodate a Shrek "entrance" earlier, the element of mystery kinda gets thrown into the heap. In the novel, it wasn't a united rebel alliance that caused the fall of six Spirit Hall outposts, including West Lu City. Rather, their Spirit Masters were killed in very diverse, mysterious ways, as communicated to Nana. And because each was eerily similar to the Gengxin City Moonless Killing Night, she takes a Nirvana squad to simply investigate. It doesn't even occur to Yan or her brother that it could be TS because they said even a Titled Douluo couldn't have achieved it, much less without ever getting identified. But Nana secretly suspects it's TS because, well..she's best grill lol. This makes more logical sense than what's shown here, because with Shrek's power now out of the bag, no one in SH would let her recklessly ride out to face them, esp after Jianmo and his entire SH battalion got ass whipped. In fact, she isn't even a Spirit Sage at this point in the novel, which just shows how fast Shrek levelled up.

One thing that was visually understated was the elite Nirvana squad accompanying her. Here they present as the standard black-hooded baddie but five were at least mid level Spirit Douluos, along with 20 Spirit Sages. All were completely powerless against the SK. His power is next level..

I usually change my picture every few weeks lol. This current one is from an artist called Da Congjun, you can see his work on artstation. Someone used it and placed it in Martial Peak's fandom, there are a few fandom users that actually steals or takes other people's work and put them into fandom sites and dont credit the original artist

Guest • 1 year ago
Dase • 1 year ago

Not all, just a few, they see a picture and go "that picture describes this character in this novel, let's put it into the fandom" and sometimes when you search for the original work you will find it is for another character. I have seen a picture being used for different characters on different fandoms lol

Youtube Addict • 1 year ago

Dang, the sword! It's here finally! Asura Devil's Sword is my fav weapon in the DD series for the very reason you mentioned in your spoiler. You're not wrong to say it's the most powerful weapon in existence!

Actually, I thought it looks kinda similar to the Angel's Sword?🤔 Maybe I have to rewatch the part with the Angel Sword again. I tend to gloss over scenes of QRX and her self-righteous Angel trials. LOL!

But I have to rant! In DD5, TJSS gives the fking sword to XW! I was so upset that I nearly threw my phone out of the window after reading that chapter. Then again, if they ever adapt that novel, I'm not sure if I live long enough to see it. Each succeeding sequel is longer than its predecessor, so you can do the maths. And from the looks of it, DD2 will only start earliest after the summer break.

Come to think of it, I started DD in 2019. It's a freaking three years already! Damn, what a ride it has been!

Dase • 1 year ago

lol Douluo Daluo donghua started in 2018, so you werent that late, four years now and still going

douluo • 1 year ago

Oh good Lord...first the scabbard and then the owner lol? Well, I guess I shouldn't be surprised😂 🤦.

It always baffled me why the most intriguing element in the story--Asura--was so superficially developed, instead playing third fiddle to BSE and then the SG inheritance. And really we can include the CS Hammer too, tbh. First we're given an MC with the most powerful spirit weapon in DD but..he can't show/use it. Then he does...but he can't put rings on it. Then his GG Grandfather, coincidentally, is the nigh inheritor of the most awesome divine enforcement power in existence...but he ditches TS two seconds after their meeting to see his old flame. Then the CS Hammer is gradually etched with the Asura Domain..but has to continually beat back/control its power with the SG light..Then when rings are finally put on the CS Hammer, it's rushed asf. Then....XW x Asura Sword🙄 and the last ten seconds of the novel LOL. I'll admit I really liked the element of mystery surrounding Asura, its affinity to the CS Hammer, and how they were both woven into the story, but there always seemed to be this puzzling and implicit intention to distance TS from his most powerful asset. But..why?

So when you revealed the details of the author's personal life, everything began to make sense. XW is not only the fictional representation of his wife, but the power systems themselves could be metaphors for his own inner turmoil. When confronted with something whose outcome is largely beyond our ability to influence/determine (cancer), what is the most logical human desire in response? CONTROL. Therefore, it makes perfect sense that he'd write TS as a control branch SM. The other emotion, of course, is chaos/rage/hatred (Asura) of God/fate (Angel/Seraphim) and the desire for such overwhelming offensive power to cheat Death itself, for a loved one. But, understandably, it would be an emotion that's continually suppressed and controlled with none other than the SG Light. Hence, the divine co-habitation crisis.

Idk, I'm probably shamelessly projecting but it's fun to speculate 😂

Youtube Addict • 1 year ago

I think you're spot on with your speculations! Are you actually a psychologist? Yup, I believe TJSS is definitely a control freak. I told you I read what he wrote about his struggles with his wife's illness, it literally gave me the impression that he was trying to hold his wife's destiny in his hands. When he shared his first diary, his wife was still alive albeit very ill, so I can understand that no one would want to give up, as long as they are still living.

As for the Asura & CS Hammer plotline, I just can't agree more! But what's frustrating for me is that he praised them to high heaven — describing the Asura God as one of the most powerful God Kings in the divine realm and calling CS Hammer a divine weapon. And then he just left the carrot dangling.🙄

douluo • 1 year ago

Ha, no not a psych, just one of the many unfortunates who had to watch a parent die of an incurable disease (Alzheimer's). And it was my personal experience that those two emotions, specifically, were all consuming..

Yeah no kidding. Like many things in the novel, Asura was basically relegated to a gigantic CARROT, as you say🙄. That's ultimately what made it so frustrating.

Youtube Addict • 1 year ago

Sorry that I stirred up your unpleasant memories.😔
Yes, all humans need an outlet, whether it's grief, frustration or excitement. That's why we're here I guess. Sometimes, just watching the show is not enough, sharing thoughts with each other completes the experience.

douluo • 1 year ago

Not at all--we all have (or will have ) those haha.

This stuff is definitely a great outlet, especially when there's good comment participation like this one.

Syed MH • 1 year ago

I’m still not understanding why Slaughter King attack on Tang San and Hu Li Ne? First, I thought may be it was because they destroyed his Slaughter City but then Slaughter King suddenly started to talk about antidotes. And Tang San also seems to know what he means and started to taunt him. And I was like what in the world is going on?😅
I’m still not sure but i’m just guessing that because of Slaughter City destruction, Slaughter King has no more enough supply for his addiction. And now that “Heinous drink” poison is affecting him. He came to Tang San to get the antidote for his poison. (Afterall, he knew about everything what happen in Slaughter City. And might also know that Tang San use some kind of herb to cure himself from heinous drink poison but didn’t focus much at that time).
Please clarify if my assumption is correct or not?

Well that was a delight. Differently tho can someone explain the hate for XW?

Dase • 1 year ago

It stems from a number of reasons

1. The childhood sweetheart kind of ran thin after she died, and during that time some viewers felt she was no different to a money pouch Tang San would carry
2. Her revival took too long and in between her death and revival the death of her two best friend happened just before her revival took an emotional hit on some viewers
3. She has the most plot armour out of the seven Shrek members, she didnt need to do much (in the novel) and was able to be "carried" by Tang San reaching a comparable level to Tang San, while others had to work harder than her. Another example is she became the successor of Asura God, this is interchangable with Tang San, but she is the main holder of the Asura God position
4. Avid readers of the Soul Land series (there are a lot after Soul Land 1) knows that Xiao Wu is the author's beloved wife's persona in the novel, and some are tired of seeing the author wallow in grief by living in the moment through the novel - nothing wrong with that, different people cope with death in different ways, some take longer than others
5. Haters being haters will find any excuse
6. Biggest reason - Hu Liena exists 🥰 - best girl in the novel voted in by many guys pretending to be girls on weibo

Youtube Addict • 1 year ago

Actually in the beginning, my dislike for her stems from her impulsive and childish character. I don’t do cute. I like strong and self-sufficient female characters. Then the more I read, the more I dislike her. She’s nothing but a freeloader and a plot armour.

Dase • 1 year ago

mhm she didnt have much character development if you compared her with the rest of the Seven Shreks.
Oscar grew to be more confident and mature
Mubai became more solid, caring for others more than himself
Fatty grew to be less horny :P but seriously he matured and became self aware, and after meeting Xiangxiang he became more responsible
Rongrong, from a spoiled princess to a caring and stepping into a leadership role for her own clan
Zhuqing, grew to depend on others and became less aloof
Tang San, well no need to say anything lol
And Xiao Wu, well from the moment we see her, until the current episodes, no much has changed

Youtube Addict • 1 year ago

Well summarised! 👏👏

How is she a freeloader lol?

Youtube Addict • 1 year ago

You do know that in order to revive her, TS needs to give his soul rings to her. It’s not just a matter of returning her soul ring and soul bone, and voila, job done but she needs all of TS’s rings! But what really happens during her resurrection will be a spoiler, I shall leave it at that.

Of course we can see it from the other end that the author simply wanted to “remodel” TS’s soul rings configuration. In this case, she’s more like a plot armour.

Secondly, her SeaGod trials require her to do nothing. Oops, my bad, she piggybacks on TS —he passes, she passes. I’m sure you would agree that TS’s SeaGod trial is all about him levelling up in the shortest time possible and getting rewarded with a Sea God title. But compared to the efforts and hard work TS and the other Shrek devils have put in, XW’s rewards in the end seem very unfair and unjustified, especially when she became even more powerful than Dai Mubai after getting her rewards. Not to mention the sudden Asura God inheritance with TS.

This for me was the last straw when she became a duo God with TS. You should know that TS literally went through hell in Slaughter City and him getting the Deathgod domain means he’s been officially acknowledged as a candidate for the Asura God position. What exactly has XW done to deserve the Asura God inheritance may I ask? Even Hu Liena or Tang Hao should stand a higher chance than her.
But then again, fans of hers may not see it that way. It’s all very subjective.

douluo • 1 year ago

Yep the examples could fill a book LOL. Post-Sacrifice she's almost literally a Spirit Beast backpack that levels up with its owner.

Dase • 1 year ago

Pretty much, as much as it sound harsh, if you remove her character from the novel, the story doesnt deviate much since Tang San didnt go out of his way to look for a way to revive her. The solution provided by the two Spirit Beast was deemed unusable anyway. The fire core given to Fatty, the ginseng that was eaten by Xiao Wu, Tang San didnt have a need for it anyway. He will go to Sea God Island to strengthen himself regardless, he wants to bring his father back to the clan and revive his mother, so that isnt dependent on Xiao Wu's existence. So apart from the emotional aspect she has on Tang San, she is pretty much.... like what weibo users say, "an extra baggage carried around by Tang San, she might as well remain a rabbit for the whole novel."

If you replace her with Hu Liena, now it makes a far interesting story, Romero and Juliet, each of them on opposing sides.

douluo • 1 year ago

Exactly. With all the couples in this series, I even briefly thought he would do something momentous with XG x Bibi to really shake things up, esp after he went to see her directly. But nope LOL.

Dase • 1 year ago

Yeah TJSS really plays it safe, if I were him, I would have tried to
bring Xiao Gan and Bibi Dong back together, if not then would have done
something more with his Tyrant Dragon clan, with the issue of Erlong
and him being cousins but that fizzled out

A bit of FYI, paternal cousins marrying each other is a no no in Chinese tradition, while marrying a maternal cousin is fine, it comes from the taboo of marrying a person with the same surname, this still persists in some areas in Asia, the marrying same surname, not marrying cousins lol

Youtube Addict I thought they had descendants in later Soul Land series, unless fandom is wrong lol

Youtube Addict • 1 year ago

Looks like I need to stalk the fan forum again. I don't recall reading that. I only know XiaoGang managed to reach Titled Douluo. But if it is, I'm not surprised. They nearly had their chance in a tent during one of the soul beast hunting trip. Remember that's when Erlong ran amok when a beast ruined her chance.

Dase • 1 year ago

ummm Flanders was in the same tent though.... would have been awkward 🥴🥴
But according to fandom, Xiao Gan and Erlong changes the rule in their clan that everyone is to follow their mother's surname
They had many chances though... when Xiao Gan was tired when he was training the Imperial troops... and in bed..... helpless.... weakened.... *cough cough*

Youtube Addict • 1 year ago

To be fair, he did try to spice it up with a hot and spicy Liu Erlong. But then he had to douse it with a celibate marriage! LOL

douluo • 1 year ago

Right. Every time there was a couple with infinite potential, he ruined it with another female TS x Nana spoiled by XW, and XG x Bibi spoiled by LEL. 🤣

How about this: get rid of QR from the narrative and Hu Liena is Bibi's real daughter. She uses her charm on TS while under the heavy influence of Bloody Mary's in Slaughter City, and she gets prego. Oops! Ah the possibilities could be endless LOL.

Youtube Addict • 1 year ago

Love that narrative!

Actually I did try to visualise TS in all kinds of scenarios when I was reading the Slaughter City chapter.

So, what do you think of this: TS thought XW was killed during the confrontation with Bibi right at the end of the final match of the Soul Master Competition but papa Tang Hao rescued the two of them and secretly sent her away.

So bearing the grudge and vengeance in his heart, he went to Slaughter City and met Hu Liena. She of course fell head over heels with him but he was all the while plotting his revenge. But after going through a series of life and death battles, he realised he had fallen for her.

So, this is where we can insert your narrative in here ** She uses her charm on TS while under the heavy influence of Bloody Mary's in Slaughter City, and she gets prego.

Then she found out about his real identity and he found out about her sneaky act. Oh, we can also spice it up further, say XW makes her appearance again?

Dase • 1 year ago

lol if only TJSS is only daring like Heavenly Silkworm Potato's Doupo Caingquing with Xiao Yan and Medusa, douluo in that -

During the Slaughter City arc, while under the influence of the murderous aura while escaping the city, the temptation was too much for innocent Tang San when he sees Hu Liena almost naked body, sounds of clothes dropping to the floor, heavy panting and a soft moan comes out from Hu Liena's small mouth and they passionately kiss and crumpled. No one was there to watch, as sounds of passion echoes throughout the fiery dungeon.
A few months later, Hu Liena discovering she is with child leaves the Martial Soul Hall, as she knows not only questions will be raised about the child's father but if it is discovered who the father's identity is, it could mean the death of her child, she didnt fear death, but she wanted to give the child a chance to be born. She decides to go to the Sunset forest, believing that with the existence of two 10,0000 years old spirit beast it will the best place to hide until the child is born.

Youtube Addict • 1 year ago

So does she know the real identity of "Tang Yin"? 😄

Well, as douluo said, the possibilities are endless. I really don't know what to say about TJSS. He's incredibly creative with his writings but he sucks at writing female characters and romance. This is not the only example but they are equally bad in other sequels. The only character I kinda like is Gu Yuena (TS's daughter-in-law). She's strong, dominant and sassy but he just had to ruin a good character towards the end.

Guess what, he ended the story (DD3) with the couple committing suicide. In the final battle between men and soul beasts, represented by Tang Wulin (TS's son) and Gu Yuena, she deliberately fell on his spear and he being too traumatised, did the same as to join her.🤦‍♂️

It may not seem so ridiculous when you just read my short account but when you really read the novel, you will see the absurdity of it because he actually proposed to her before their "battle" and asked for a compromise but she (behaving like XW) insisted on a life and death battle to end the feud between humans and soul beasts. Right, as if it will end with their death! 🙄

Dase • 1 year ago

lol, not until after the child is born :P

Oh totally, there is a reason why he is the top earning webnovelist in China, not sure about now but he held the title for a number of years. Personally I think he doesnt have much experience with women apart from his wife... from one of his novel based on his real life, his wife came from a rich family and he had to work his way to where he is now, so I guess his wife was his one and only experience. And... with her death more than likely it influence his works, like in DD3 where he himself might have been suicidal at one point and decided to write it into his novel.

This is probably why I like Heavenly Silkworm Potato, author of Doupo Cangqiong, Wudong Qiankun, Da Zhu Zai, it's got more humor and harem :P except for Da Zhu Zai
